Guest post by Jemima Herman, Worldwide Partner Conference lead for the Microsoft U.S. Partner Team.
Happy New Year! I can't believe that we're now just six months from the 2012 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Toronto. In my December post, I talked about things you can do to plan ahead for Canada. In this post, I want to look ahead to the amazing opportunities that will await you once you are at the Conference.
Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to chat with partners for whom WPC 2011 in Los Angeles was their first WPC experience, and with partners who have not attended WPC before but are planning to come to Toronto for WPC 2012. I've learned a lot from these conversations, and it inspired me to write this post about the ABCs of WPC—to explain the opportunity and why I highly encourage all members of the Microsoft Partner Network to consider making the investment to attend.
A is for Advantage. WPC is the best place to get a firsthand look at the Microsoft products and technologies road map. Every year I'm amazed at how much information is presented through speakers, tracks, and sessions, not to mention the unlimited opportunities to connect and share with Microsoft executives, team members, and other partners. There's a deep sense of working—and winning—together.
B is for Your Business. With many thousands of Microsoft partners and experts in one place, WPC is dynamic and inspiring. It's five full days of opportunities to share experiences, make connections, be recognized, and get new ideas for building your business.
C is for Cloud. A lot of the partners I've been talking to lately are looking to grow their business in the cloud. At WPC, you'll have many opportunities to learn about Microsoft cloud technologies. For instance, you can connect with Microsoft executives and tech visionaries to understand the nature of cloud solutions, hear about what your customers might be asking for in the next months and years, and see where you might find untapped cloud opportunities.
In short, WPC is the best opportunity I know to hear directly from Microsoft about upcoming products and technologies and to make the connections that can support you in growing your business. This year’s Conference is going to be great—I hope you’ll join us in Toronto!
WPC 2012 Awards and Registration are coming soon. We’ll announce details about them here and in the U.S. WPC Community. In the meantime, tell us about your WPC plans in our annual U.S. WPC Survey—complete it for a chance to win an Xbox with Kinect! (Sweepstakes ends 2/29/2012; Official Rules)
