There were two big pieces of news from Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto this week around availability of two major upgrades to Microsoft software, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Both Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 will be released to manufacturers (RTM) – industry jargon for giving hardware companies access to the software code - in the first week of August. Windows Server 2012 will be generally available to customers worldwide through multiple channels in September, and Windows 8 will be generally available by the end of October. See the Windows blog for more information.
