Q: We are unable to find the re-release installer for MS12-050 for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 (KB2760604). Is this missing?

A: We are aware that the link is currently not available. The update is ready and the link will be back online as soon as possible.

Q: So for MS12-079, Microsoft Word 2007/2010 -- if the Compatibility Pack is NOT installed, do we need to install that and then install the update in order to be fully protected?

A: If you do not have the Compatibility Pack installed, there is no reason to install the Compatibility Pack update.

Q: Are there any future plans in getting WSUS or Microsoft Update to update 3rd party software, such as the Adobe Flash update?

A: We already release third party software such as Adobe Flash player for Windows 8 through WSUS or Microsoft update.

Q: If someone has the Office compatibility pack installed, will Configuration Manager offer the security update for it?

A: Configuration Manager will offer the security update if a user already has the Office compatibility pack installed.

Q: If the MS12-079 update is installed or not installed automatically as it is not needed, will the fix be applied or take effect when the Word Compatibility pack is installed after the release of MS12-079?

A: If the Compatibility Pack is not installed when MS12-079 is applied, then the Compatibility Pack will not be fixed.  If the Compatibility Pack is installed at a later time, the update for the Compatibility Pack will need to be applied.
