This is a great blog and works for a majority of our Microsoft Online customers. HOWEVER, if you have an Exchange Hosted Archive (EHA) subscriptions within BPOS-S and you follow through with the above steps, you will lose access to your Hosted Archive, I REPEAT, you will not be able to access your hosted archive.

FOPE/EHA teams are aware of this issue and working to define a solution for customers who are stepped through the above tasks. At this time I would ask anyone who has an Exchange Hosted Archive in BPOS-S to NOT perform these steps!

When Microsoft upgrades each customer's subscription for them, there won't be downtime, mail will keep flowing, and the process will be entirely automated. This post does not describe that experience--you can find more information about the transition process at http://www.bpostransition.com/.

But if a customer or partner chooses not to have Microsoft upgrade their service for them, and instead do all the work themselves, there are risks, and we'd prefer to have customers and partners understand these before jumping in.

Hm,

One the good things of the cloud is that you don't have to worry about upgrades.

Now you present a 10 step plan for migration. A word about losing data and mail outtage of 1 day.

I would say, that is not the cloud from the commercial presentation...

Just to reiterate, the official source for information regarding BPOS to O365 Transitions is located here:

www.microsoft.com/.../transition-center.aspx

And to reiterate again, the whole "Please note that manual migration is not supported, manual migration will stop mail flow for at least 24 hours, and customers with Exchange Hosted Archiving will lose all archived data" part is pretty important.
