This week in BPOS news is a recurring segment on the Microsoft Online Services Team Blog that covers news from all sectors of Cloud Computing and the Microsoft Online Services business suite known as the Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS). You can read all past This Week in BPOS News segments here.
This week in BPOS news we cover three stories that include a discussion about the future of cloud computing, showing off your cloud and a real world interview with someone that chose Microsoft.
Brad Smith is Corporate Senior Vice President and Counsel at Microsoft. Along with his senior level title comes senior level knowledge about Microsoft and the Cloud. Brad Smith sits down with the TV segment called “The Communicators.” This clip originally aired on CSPAN in the episode entitled “The Future of Cloud Computing.”
This episode was recorded in January of this year and filmed in Washington D.C. while Mr. Smith was in town talking to the government about the cloud. We wrote a segment earlier this year about his speech. The episode focuses on how life, business and government will be affected by the cloud in the near future, with a heavy emphasis on cloud computing for government. There are many interesting discussions surrounding the cloud which will easily hold your interest for this 30 minute episode.
If you want to learn more about the cloud, look no further than this much-watch episode. What do you think was left out of this discussion? What are your thoughts about the cloud and government? Leave a comment below.
Earlier this week we posted on our blog about a conversation we recently had with a customer. He showed us the space his company is saving on their server rack due to transitioning on-premises servers to Microsoft’s Cloud with BPOS. So we ask you again, Show us How Microsoft Online Services has improved your company and job through the Microsoft Cloud and BPOS collaboration software. Here is a brief list of picture ideas:
Along with the pictures, include your name, company, location and a brief description.

The Why Microsoft blog is a blog dedicated to “Microsoft’s strategic and technical differentiation.” Nothing differentiates Microsoft over the competition like our complete cloud solutions. Andrew Kisslo manages the Why Microsoft blog and sits down with Jake Harris, Director of IT at Aisle7, to discuss why Aisle7 replaced Google Apps with Microsoft BPOS. In this real world testimonial Andrew asks three pivotal questions:
Harris addresses the first question by telling us about some warning signs of Google Apps that he wished he listened to, “Some people warned that Google might be good for personal use but not for business. I think those people were wise.”
You can read more of Harris’ answers in this blog post which examines the above questions. You can also read more customer stories on our blog.

I'm not sure if you can help, but we have a service request that's been open since August 31st that we've had utterly no traction on. We've tried to escalate it, but can't seem to get it past wherever it is now.
Hi, Please send your service request number and a breif description of your problem to BPOSCOM@Microsoft.com.
