Brett Hill of Advaiya, Inc. walks us through SharePoint Online and reveals some tips and tricks along the way to boost your productivity in just 5 minutes!
The quality of the video is very poor. I am also not sure what are the scenarios they are trying to present here.
Hi John, We uploaded a higher quality video. Thanks.
Basic question on the cloud; perhaps not part of this advanced sessions; how do you log on as user remotely?
Hi Guys. I'm not sure which version of SharePoint online you are using, but I don't have the option to drag and drop multiple files and folders using the method displayed in this demo. The only way to do this that I'm aware of with BPOS-S is to use Explorer view. When I click the upload multiple files, it only allows me to select files and not folders and there's no drag and drop functionality. Am I missing something here?
Nothing special about the demo in terms of SharePoint Online - it's the normal service. So I went back to the same site in the demo and sure enough, the drag and drop window did NOT appear. So I tried a lot of different things to get the version back that was shown in the video. Finally, it occured to me that the only difference between then and now on the virtual machine I use for the demos is that I downgraded Office to 2007 so as not make the mistake of demonstrating features that are not fully supported except in Enterprise skus or in 2010 only. Not that I dont' mind showing those features - just that I'd challenge anyone to find a resource that lists exactly what features work with SharePoint depending on the version of Office in use.
SO, bottom line - I confirmed that you will get the drag and drop window with Office 2010 but not with 2007.
Nice catch! Thanks for the comment.
From above: "I confirmed that you will get the drag and drop window with Office 2010 but not with 2007."
I do not get the Drag and Drop option and I am running Office 2010 except in the Windows Explorer view
