FullArmor Corporation began in 1987 and over the years has evolved into a software + services company. We provide enterprise endpoint management on the various Windows platforms and value added solutions on top of Microsoft cloud services. At last count, more than 5 million users and 1,500 organizations worldwide rely on solutions developed by FullArmor. FullArmor has a long standing relationship with Microsoft and we have been recognized by Microsoft for our strong focus on innovation as a finalist for the 2010 Global ISV Cloud Partner of the Year award and winner of the 2009 Global ISV Technology Innovation Partner of the Year award.
I am the Director of Microsoft Alliance for FullArmor and I am responsible for managing our incubation products as well as managing our ongoing relationship with Microsoft. Our latest product, MailPortal Migrator is free tool which helps our mutual customers migrate from various email systems they are currently using including on-premise Exchange and Google Apps mail and calendar to Microsoft Live@edu. Schools wanting to do bulk migrations can also purchase MailPortal Migrator Admin. In the very near future, we will also offer migration services for the Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite.
We’ve already had some great customer wins like the Kentucky Department of Education utilizing a beta release of our MailPortal Migrator in their migration of 700,000 on-premise Exchange mailboxes to Live@edu, which was the largest and fastest migration to Live@edu to date. The University of Tennessee is also using the new tool to migrate 24,000 students from on-premise Exchange. With the official release just around the corner (on July 19th), we believe this is just the tip of the iceberg.
We’ve found that Live@edu, which includes Exchange 2010 provided as a service and other collaboration tools, is so much better than anything else out in the market, there is a huge worldwide demand for it. The problem many customers face in K-12 and higher education is migrating effectively and efficiently from their existing mail system. The same situation holds true for other Microsoft Online Services now and may accelerate even more once other enterprise online offerings upgrade to Exchange 2010.
We’re already talking to several customers who are currently on Google Apps mail that want to migrate to Live@edu and the Business Productivity Online Suite. Maybe it’s the competitiveness in me, but I can’t wait to take some customers away from Google!
We believe there is great opportunity to provide value added services on top of Microsoft’s finished cloud services like Live@edu and the Business Productivity Online Suite. We plan to build on the success of MailPortal Migrator to offer additional services that run on Windows Azure and add value on top of Microsoft’s online services. As an example, we are in the process of building an image filtering service that will run on Windows Azure, which is a key security and compliance need for the K-12 education market.
We are also working in developing markets where there is the greatest need. One of our projects is a “laptop for teachers” program with the Ethiopian government where our endpoint management solution manages these laptops. One proof of concept that we are working on now is to utilize the SharePoint Online platform to provide a learning management system with unique features and functionality required by this market segment. You can see an early demo of this project and other exciting work here from our participation in last year’s Worldwide Partner Conference keynote.
