Apple Mail 4 and iCal 4, which come with Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) can be manually configured to work with Exchange Online. Previous versions of Apple Mail and iCal are not supported.
To configure Apple Mail and iCal:
After clicking Create, it will take a few minutes for your Exchange Online e-mail and calendar items to synchronize.
Note: When you set up an Exchange account in Apple Mail, SSL is on by default. If you turned it off, you can turn it back on in Apple Mail by clicking Preferences, Accounts, Advanced, and then selecting Use SSL under the internal server path. Select port number 443.

Is there an OCS client for Mac?
Not yet. We're working on one for the next major service release.

Glad to see Microsoft Online stepping up and supporting Macs. It may be a small(er) market, but it's a very influential one! Keep up the good work in this space.
Is there support for IMAP mail clients?
I can see reference to POP, but not to IMAP, except for migrating from IMAP mailboxes.
We have number of users who for a variety of reasons, some valid, some less so, are not able to, or have enough clout to not use Windows desktop machines.
We'd find IMAP useful, maybe even a hard requirement for those users.
Does any one know one way or the other or can you point me out the the relecant FAQ?
Thanks
I was inspired by this post and make a Videocast about this at www.himmlische-it.de/.../microsoft-online-services-administration-videocast-apple-mail-und-ical-an-exchange-online-anbinden (sorry it is in german)
This worked perfectly, thanks! Now how do I sync/import my global contacts and iCal? I was hoping to find a related links but didn't see it...
