Just a quick post to let you know that the long awaited release of the next version of the Microsoft Online Services Migration Tools is finally here! The 32 bit and 64 bit versions were released to the download center on Tuesday, 2/2/2010.
The big news is that this version contains the new Windows PowerShell commandlets that Microsoft Online Services administrators can use to automate some of their user management tasks. For more information about using PowerShell with Microsoft online services, see the Webinar: Using PowerShell with Microsoft Online Services blog post with links to the webinar recording and the PowerPoint file with the details of how to use each commandlet.

Will Office 2010 Beta run on a PC that is running Wndows XP version 2002?
Thanks for the update but where can I find documentation about what the it does, or is it purely PowerShell enhancements? Be nice to have the ability to automatically retry failed migration attempts...
Glad to hear of the update.
The Supported Operating Systems continues to be puzzling though. Other than odd/redundant items in the list, Windows Server 2008 is _still_ not officially supported. It's odd that Server 2003 is given full qualification, while the _current_ server product from Microsoft takes a back seat.
In a previous post it was stated get-MSOnlineUser would support selecting multiple users via a view. However, I have downloaded the latest release of the tools and checked the latest documentation but I can't see any mention of selecting users via a view.
This is the statement from the blog post: "The get-MSOnlineUser commandlet will be updated as part of this Service Update to return a user view rather than just a single specified user, enabling administrators to obtain usage information for specific sets of users." from http://blogs.technet.com/msonline/archive/2009/12/18/service-update-december-2009-release-availability-features-announced.aspx
Webinar is not very useful. Half the commands that she used did not work in the demo or in my environment.
Keith, all commands should work fine. Please make sure that you are using the commands from the latest version of the Transporter Suite. You can download the 32 bit version at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9ed5f4c1-7f0b-4506-a214-32093af6147a&displayLang=en
If this doesn't work for you, please contact Support. They can help you get this working.
