Call it what you like. Headquarters, Geek Central, the Mother Ship, the Death Star (we know who you are). Like most of you, I don't get to Redmond too often. See, although I worked on campus for a long time, I now head up the "Southeastern Bureau of Microsoft Learning," also known as my home office. Bill Chapman is a part time associate of a satellite office of the MSL S.E. Bureau - he splits his time between Redmond and Central Florida.

Between one thing and another, it's been a while since I've been to Microsoft headquarters. I didn't know what kind of mood to expect on campus after last week's layoffs. What I found is that I still work with some of the most fun, amazing, inspirational, enthusiastic people on the planet. At the team meeting at Ken's house (see Sarah's post from the event) we re-energized around the blog, around each other and around you, the community. We concluded that the most valuable service we can provide to you is helping you to get a job and keep a job. It's pretty simple. Look for more around that in upcoming posts. For right now, as a member of our Community and Evangelism team (you're the "Community" part in that), I'm inviting you to an inside look at my visit to Redmond.
