MOM has entered the blogosphere!  I cant wait to see members of the MOM product team and others up here blogging about news, troubleshooting, tips and tricks and getting feedback from you.

I'm Travis Wright.  I've been working on MOM since I joined Microsoft 3 years ago.  MOM has come a long way since MOM 2000 SP1 and its set to go to a whole new level with the next version.  When I first joined Microsoft, I was working on a now defunct visionary project called 'SMX'.  That project has now morphed into an entire division - Windows and Enterprise Management Division (WEMD) - building a whole suite of products called System Center.

I'm the Lead User Interface (UI) Program Manager (PM) on the MOM team.  My team and I are designing the MOM v3 user interface.  In the future, I will be bringing advanced news, sneak preview screenshots, and posting other information about the MOM UI.  I'll also post some helpful tips and tricks for the MOM 2005 consoles.

Some of you might know me as 'Deployment Man' - a title that was bestowed on me while I was the setup PM for MOM 2005.  We made great strides in ease of deployment in MOM 2005 which culminated in my famous 'Blindfolded Upgrade'.

On the personal side - yes, I do have a life outside of Microsoft - I am the proud father of two boys, love to play soccer, and enjoy the outdoors whenever I can.

Looking forward to it!

  • Hi Travis. Hopefully on the v3 UI project you guys will be able to maintain the feel of the current UI and overcome any minor issues without submitting to the tempation to throw the whole thing out and start again from scratch with a bunch of new minor issues and another steep learning curve for us all to deal with.

  • Good news! A Blog!
Looking forward to reading some tasty tidbits here...
