The ever useful and all round good guy Paul Culmsee has written and freely released a handy tool to monitor WSUS 2! Heres what he sent me and where to get it from:

"...

WSUSMON

Note: tested only on WSUS version 2. Not designed for Version 3

Description:

WSUSMon is a simple, FREE utility that allows you to monitor Microsoft Windows Software Update Services version 2 (WSUS) in real time.

While I like Windows Server Update Service and use it a lot, I found that the reports it produced did not give me a good sense of current activity.

I checked the WSUS SDK that Microsoft produced and there didn't appear to be quite what I was looking for either.

So WSUSMon periodically queries the WSUS Database and displays the current state of clients connecting to the WSUS server.

WSUSMon is completely free for personal and commercial use. It may be freely used, copied and distributed as long as it is not sold, or modified in any way.
