I have to announce that despite our earlier intentions of having Jesper present, he is now not able to make it to our TechEd's in AU and NZ. This was a last minute decision and we do sincerely apologise to all attendees who were planning on seeing him this one last time.
For the three sessions he had in each event for Jesper we have Steve Riley doing another session and a new presenter (from the same security team as Steve) for the other two. Meet Kai!
Kai Axford is an accomplished security technologist and is a veteran of MSFT for over 6 years. He has done countless webcasts and articles and was on the US national TechNet presentation team before joining Steve's team. He will cover one of Jesper's presentations and will do one of his own. You can expect Kai to be visiting our region a lot more!
Heres his session title and abstract:
Responding to Computer Attacks
“I think we’ve been hacked. Call the boss.” What now? Join us for this powerful and informative Incident Response session. We’ll discuss the most common types of security incidents and how to manage them. You’ll learn how to detect and trace network intrusions and apply communication channels that will help you gain valuable information about the attacks. Kai Axford will show you not only how to form and manage your incident response team, but also how to evaluate the human side of incident response, including attacker analyses. Finally, you’ll learn what to do when you suspect that your system is compromised and how to apply information gathered from security logs. Don’t just react to an attack -- respond with a plan. After this event, you’ll know exactly what to do if you’re hacked. Register today for this unique, must-see session.
Im sure you will enjoy Kai's presentations just as much as you've enjoyed Jesper in the past.
We're gonna miss you Jesper. But it will be very cool to hear (and see) Kai speek in person - as apposed to at a 3 am Webcast :)
I will always have extremely fun and fond memories of TechEd Boston because I got to see Dr. Jesper Johansson...
He's being "prevented" from speaking. That suckshttp://blogs.technet.com/jesper_johansson/archive/2006/08/12/446247.aspx...
Jesper has blogged that he won't be coming to Tech Ed in New Zealand, Australia or Japan this year. ...
