Microsoft Corp.’s Minneapolis office, located in Bloomington, is home to more than 200 employees. Additionally, in the spring of 2011, the company opened a 16,815-square-foot Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Edina, Minn. This MTC is one of 11 in the entire United States and is a space intended for customers and Microsoft tech experts to collaborate together on innovative solutions.

Overall, Microsoft has approximately 300 employees in the state of Minnesota, including in its Bloomington sales office, the MTC in Edina, its retail store at the Mall of America and its Expression Studio in St. Paul, Minn. In addition, many employees who work in the Fargo, N.D., facility live in Minnesota. The company also works with more than 2,115 partner companies in the state.

Since 2003, the company has given and matched employee gifts totaling more than $48 million in cash, curriculum, software and volunteer hours in the state of Minnesota. In FY11 alone, Microsoft donated more than $5 million in software grants to local organizations in Minnesota.
