Hi All,
I have decided to write all the HPC content under one blog which will be my main site - here you will get content which will be Search and HPC aligned but every post will be tagged so you can easily get the content you desire..So please change your RSS feeders accordingly as this will be the last post on this site.

I think we can be proud that in an industry of over 100 vendors, resellers and OEMs Microsoft has been voted in the top 5 businesses in that industry alongside Surfcontrol for IT partnerships. SurfControl and Microsoft were at the CNET Awards on Tuesday night and took a runner up (or in media speak 'Finalist') for the CNET Awards technology Partnership of the Year Award 2006:

So my question to you is: which one of you wishes to step up in 2007 and take the High Performance Computing for Innovative Customer Solutions Award?? Well if you want to, then you know where to come - get in touch with me now at mikepal@microsoft.com and join the wave around Search at Microsoft!!
For the first year ever Microsoft is delivering a huge amount of our Partner conference on the web. This years UK Partner conference is taking place this week, but for those not able to make it you can simply go here for the latest news and information about our strategy and upcoming plans with partners:

Launching this Tuesday 26th September you will be able to hear more about the following:
Enjoy!
Hi All - just changed the style on all the posts to remove the annoying black highlight on all the posts - hopefully this will make reading this blog via RSS a little easier - let me know if this works for you!
Cheers!
Yes, you heard it right - we are going to run a bootcamp for CCS on the 1st and 2nd November. This will involve the following:
Likely to be a one day course, so with the two dates you have a little freedom depending on diary commitments. This course will involve the whole UK HPC team - including:
If you fancy reserving yourself on the course then please e-mail me at mikepal@microsoft.com
So yesterday I had the distinct pleassure of spending 15 hours with the IBM Deep Computing team at one of their UK Bootcamps.....now I know some of you may be thinking that it is a weird combination to have MS and IBM talking to their partners together - some people in MS did ask me if 15 hours in IBM meant that I:
A) Could not find the exit after having popped in asking them for directions
B) Got stuck in interview hell..
Happily neither of the above are true and it was an absolutely great day - the IBM team are absolutely razor focussed and genuinely nice people - no strange DNA strings or multiple heads I can assure you! (:)) The key for us all is that Windows CCS represents a tremendous opportunity for channel partners to drive truly incremental sales. Now these are businesses that today are 100% Linux focussed - however we find that their businesses stifle in certain areas where really simple UI based tools with a Windows based architecture could drive the partner and SI solutions into new areas hence increasing overall market share and revenue for the partners concerned.
Together IBM and Microsoft look forward to driving our software and their hardware together into the market! - Bring it on!
So one of the best links I have found for technical and 'how-to' content for HPC is the Windows HPC Community site - great info and solid community to get involved in - you can see it all here:
www.WindowsHPC.net
Probably not best, for those of you who are more business orientated but a great set of resources nonetheless!
Right so for those wishing to see the HPC content I have written about over the last month please head to the initial blog I created which will now be focussing solely on Search. That content can be viewed at: http://blogs.technet.com/mikep/default.aspx
Right so based on your feedback I have decided to change this blog so that we have two separate blogs for those looking for specific Search content versus HPC. The blog links will be as follows:
Search Blog:
HPC Blog:

Thanks for the feedback and I hope you enjoy the change. Please note the HPC blog is currently bare as it's brand spanking new for content...stay tuned this week...!
