μCloud is a project to study and to develop an advanced technology platform for innovation in services and processes of support services and maintenance, able to solve the needs of quality / efficiency of assistance, distribution and control products, while keeping service costs limited and proportional to the business. The main need for the project end-user and more in general for many business realities, is a constant and rapid products alignment to the market needs in terms of software, in addition to a good knowledge of the functional status of the machines to perform a remote assistance capable of on-site costs reduction. To handle the needs mentioned, the design chosen for the basic in μCloud is the realization of a flexible embedded system (based on a modular and reconfigurable OS) connection-oriented with a centralized system cloud realized on a Platform as a Service (PaaS) that will be the heart of innovation on which rotates the entire project that will be built and on which will be future developments. As a direct result of the convergence cloud-embedded, play important roles, communication systems and embedded cloud and embedded-embedded. In particular, the paradigms of communication will be studied as a mesh-network systems and vehicle-2-vehicle (V2V), which match well with communications embedded-embedded for example in the field of construction equipment.
