Michael, I was looking for 21st Century skills to understand the concept from an educator's point of view.Assessment of soft skills and Right brain skills need urgent attention.Social skills have to be reinforced due to a challenging social scenario prevalent in the world today.I am in the process of working out a strategy to focus on soft skills and Right brain skills rather than just technology skills or the other core subjects.

Michael, I came upon your article accidentally when looking for 21st century educators. I share your opinion ompletely. It seems a gargantuan task trying to change curriculum; hence I have taken my research to high school students. I am developing an instrument to provide empirical evidence that the the current curriculum is flawed. This from the students' perspectives on their current education. The question I seek to answer is: Are they really being prepared to join the complex global workforce? It is a very important question both since they are the real beneficiaries of this education and our country needs to stay competitive

Hi Michael, you provided a wonderful opportunity at the Education Impact meeting to discuss the 21st Century Teaching and Learning Project. I still believe if we are talking about affirming or verifying 21st Century skills that we need to go beyond the current list and look at aspects such as "Developing an awareness of personal, local, national and global responsibilities that leads to active participation". In the end this project must be about growing 21st century citizens and these citizens need to demonstrate capacity to live in teh global village. Jean Francois Rischard has some great points on thsi in his book 'high Noon'. Looking forward to continuing the conversation.
