I am however puzzled by some of the strategies taken by most NGOs when it comes to education in the developing world. For example, in Africa there has been an emphasis given to K-12 education while there are millions of college ready young Africans roaming slams of most African Cities. I argue that NGOs can use emerging technologies to provide affordable hi-tech college level education to these college ready young people who can start building software applications relevant to their problems and opportunities in their communities.</p>
