Microsoft in Education Blog
Families see education as a journey that opens doors for students. Education connects students to exciting careers where they have the power to change their lives, our communities, and the world. More than ever, having technology skills, is needed for those college or career bound and can empower students for the future.
To help explore new technology that can help students tap into creativity, innovation, and productivity to support whatever path they desire, this week we are announcing Microsoft EduTech Family Summits.
EduTech Family Summits encourage families, students, and educators to explore how technology can enhance learning and prepare students for higher education and career opportunities. At the Summits, families will be able to see how Microsoft Windows, Office 365, SkyDrive, Bing, Skype, and Kinect enhance not only what our students learn but how they learn. In collaboration with YouthSpark, we are inviting parents, students, and teachers to join us and explore how we can best support our students in their quest for academic and career success by using innovative technology to learn and achieve.
We’re expecting over 2,000 students, educators, community leaders and local government representatives to participate at these exciting one-day events. Check out our event page here to see if we are coming to a city near you!
Register now for the EduTech Family Summit, Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Boston. Our theme is Achieve. Our keynote speaker, Victor Ortiz—a protégée of Oscar de La Hoya and one of the brightest stars in boxing today—exemplifies what it means to Achieve. Overcoming a difficult childhood, Victor aims to inspire, mentor and support our youth to believe they can achieve great things.
We look forward to seeing you on the road!
