Safer Internet DayThe Internet is a part of our everyday lives. Whether we are sharing photos with grandparents far away, researching a new project or paying bills online, the web empowers us to do the things we need and want to do. To have an active and positive digital lifestyle, we all must play a role in helping to keep the Internet a better and safer place.Microsoft is a long-standing supporter of Safer Internet Day (SID), a global campaign that promotes a healthy Internet for everyone. Organized by Insafe, and co-founded by the European Union, SID encourages responsible use of online technologies and services. In 2014, Microsoft is once again helping to promote Internet safety education and appropriate online behavior under the SID theme, "Let's create a better Internet together." And, for the first time in its 11-year history, Insafe appointed the online safety organization ConnectSafety.org as the US host for this global campaign.In preparation for the day, Microsoft is asking you to Do 1 Thing to stay safer online. Because creating a better Internet takes more than one specific day, you should take action regularly to safeguard your digital world.Use and share the following ideas to help spread the word across your social communities:
