I admit it, I am not the all-knowing Microsoft consultant I should be. The real truth is, our support folks have the best tools to diagnose problems a lot faster than I can muddle through things.
I have had the occasion over the last few weeks to call Microsoft Support (PSS) several times with issues around SQL, AD, SharePoint and Small Business Server. Every single time, I was routed to someone in India. The support was phenomenal (as always), but what was more impressive was the language skills and how hip the support guys were on the other end of the phone, especially for being so far from the US. I think my expectation was that I would still receive good support, but a bit of a language barrier as well as some bias to culture.
Next time you call in, I bet you won’t be able where the person is located that is helping you fix your issue.
