Windows 10 - The Online Audio Troubleshooter

In my previous blog post I listed out several common fixes for audio problems on Windows 10. From the feedback I have received, it seems that these solutions resolve the majority of audio problems, which is great!

We have an online version of the Windows Audio Troubleshooter that we use to test out new solutions before integrating those solutions directly into the built-in Windows Audio Troubleshooter. We've done some work to integrate the list of solutions from my blog post into the online Troubleshooter, which you can run from this location: https://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9863220.

When you run the online Troubleshooter from this link, you'll see a window like this:

Click "Next" and the Troubleshooter will then ask you to select the audio device you wish to troubleshoot:

Select the appropriate device and click "Next". You'll see a window like this:

This isn't very descriptive. "Emerging issue 69319" is actually a rather esoteric name for the new set of solutions (from my blog post) that we are testing with the online Troubleshooter. Click "Next".

From this point, the windows you see will depend on the problems detected by the Troubleshooter. Follow the prompts and let the Troubleshooter do its work.

Keep in mind that these new solutions are still in test, so while they work most of the time, they still can fail in some circumstances. Once we work out all the issues we'll integrate these fixes into the version of the Audio Troubleshooter that's built into Windows.
