Something I always find a little fiddly is networking virtual machines together in Virtual PC. I'm currently working on my Windows Server 2003 MCP (70-290) and to aid my learning, I'd like to have a domain controller running in a VM and also a VM XP client, and these are required to be networked. I'd also like them to have internet access. An easy way to configure your virtual machines to meet these requirements can be found in an excellent post at simon.says blog.
I hope you find it as useful as I did.
My names michael and I am also working towards MCSE (I need Exchange 2003 for MCSA status)
I've been using VM server R2 for a while now and it's but better than virtual PC. Here is a good URL for sysprepping your servers so you dont have to keep rebuilding them everytime you want a new VM environment:
Our of curiosity are you working at the reading campus. If so I sometimes visit near by - ATLAS house just next door. I've always been interested in a job at MS but dont fancy moving to reading.
Anyway you blog's made it onto my reader so I hope it's updated quite regularly
Thanks for the advice with regards to Virtual Server. I do infact use both, I can just never remember the settings when in VPC! ;-)
I am working at the Reading campus, and I am aware of Atlas next door, I drive past it every day! I'm sure you'll agree that TVP itself is a great place to work!
I will try my upmost to keep the blog up to date!
