Okay, so this is supposed to be week 18, but I do not know how to count, so this week 17 redo. I also realized I had signed up for a run called the New Years double, which I had committed to running a 1/2 marathon on New Years Eve and again on New Years Day. Again I do not know how to count, and realized that I was doing 2 1/2 marathons within 9 days of the marathon. Sigh. So why did I sign up for this run, in a word bling:
It is a cool medal with magnets! However, I realized as I lined up on Monday for the run, in a cold and rainy day this may not have been worth it but I have had already paid. So I was committed and off I went on the 1/2 marathon. The best part is I PR for the year and ended my half in 2:18. I was very happy considering the conditions. When I woke up the next day, I was still a little sore and knew I that another 1/2 would be a struggle. I also realized I did not want to take a chance so close to the marathon, so I decided to run the 5k instead. Probably the best $10 I spent to change to run the race. Turned out I had a great run, 26:20 for the 5k, and I just looked at the results, and I won the Clydesdale division for the race. More bling, although I am not sure I will get it, just noticed this:
