Good evening all of my Business Data Integrators!
Thank your attending my webcast on working with the Business Data Catalog (BDC) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007. I hope enjoyed the webcast and seeing all the new capabilities of the BDC. Remember one very important thing is that I wrote NO CODE to accomplish the integration, and if you think about the power of having the data accessible, the story gets even better. We had a few questions that came up during the webcast, but I also wanted to share with you the Q/A logs from the previous webcasts. You can find them here:
Questions about BDC from December 2006
Questions about BDC from October 2006

Without any more delay here are the questions. Please comment or email if you need more information.
Question: What version of MOSS 2007 has BDC integrated in it?Answered: MOSS 2007 Enterprise
Question: Where is a good article on BDC?Answer: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2007/01/SharePoint/default.aspx
Question: From what I've seen, you can connect data from a database and see it within a document library, correct? If those individual items (records) are checked out/checked in, will the changes be reflected in the original database?Answer: It is really not a document in the library, the data is coming from the application itself via the BDC, so there really is no check in check out functionality per/se. Remember that is where the actions come in to play, by default the data from the BDC is read only and the actions that you create determine what we can do to modify the data.
