One of the members of the Windows Server 2008 Insiders group in Philippines has now a finished a project I want to share with you. Elczar P. Adame is a senior technology consultant in ApSmith Solutions Corporation. They have around 50 employees, servicing 20 clients.
For the last couple of months, Elczar has tried out Windows Server 2008 for an internal pilot project. He has developed an Employee Information System that describes basic facts about employees’ history, educational background, trainings etc. The reason he wanted to do so was to see how well Windows Server 2008 and especially IIS 7.0 integrated with ASP.NET and Windows Communication Framework. Configuration, administration and diagnostics were also something he wanted to see how it was improved in the latest version of Windows Server.
He can already see a lot of benefits of IIS 7 compared to IIS 6 and the project really taught him all there is to know about IIS 7! The main benefits he sees are:
