Hi,

I am using windows 7 64 bit with IE8 32 bit.

The explorer view is not working properly.

The explorer view works once only after resetting the Internet explorer.

So, I have to reset my Internet Browser every-time if I have to work Explorer view.

Please guide.

"All about" explorer view is anything but. I truly wish there was a proper documentation for microsoft products. Right now I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to prevent it or limit "explorer view", as it pertains to versioning libraries. But there is no real documentation for it, so I am forced to read 3rd party blogs to find out very BASIC things about how our purchased product works.

Honestly that's too much work,

i found easier way to move your database else where than previous and even dump massive LOG file if you don't need it.

open command prompt or shell work fine in both use this commands step by step:

1) iisreset

2) net stop MSSQLSERVER "change (MSSQLSERVER ) it to whatever is your instance named"

3) net start MSSQLSERVER /f /m "same thing"

part 2 & 3 is for to make sure there is no leftover connection to database

now you can detach and move your database anywhere you like, after you moved it and attach your database in SQL Management Studio just run this command (IISRESET) once more and wait like minute or 2 and everything works like a charm.

No need to connect to webdav at all and it allows you to drag and drop links in addition to files.

Thanks Roy. In reviewing users request, I learned the following.

User can do all file functions: add/create file names, revise file names, delete same files in Sharepoints version of Windows Explorer

If user goes to sharepoint folder outside of the windows environment

(example \\wpx,\project x\document library\folder)

and tries the same steps they cannot rename the file (can create and delete)

have you experienced this before, are there settings that can be modified, my manager thinks there is.

From the Settings>Document Library Settings page, click on Explorer View.

This should take you to the "Edit View" with a view name of Explorer View and the web address will be "WebFldr"

Now, go into the URL and change "ViewEdit.aspx" to "ViewNew.aspx".

Name the View whatever you would like and click OK.

Hi, quick question, A user of our site has the ability to create foldes & files but not rename them. I would have expected that once you have the ability to create, you would have the ability to rename. Is there anything in SP that could cause this to occur?
