Problema con versión pre-release del Update Rollup 4

El pasado Martes 9 de Setiembre, una versión pre-release del Update Rollup 4 para Exchange 2007 SP1 (KB952580) fue publicada inadvertidamente por unas horas en "Microsoft Update", "Microsoft Update Catalog" y WSUS para ser instalado. Hemos identificado y sacado esta versión de circulación rápidamente luego de que fue detectado. Sin embargo, es posible que servidores suscritos a estos mecanismos de actualización hayan detectado, bajado e instalado este rollup.

En esta versión pre-release hay un problema conocido en el Exchange Web Service, generando potencialmente una condición de crash. La versión final de rollup que será publicada en breve, no presenta este problema, por lo que recomendamos a nuestros clientes esperar por la versión final del Rullup 4 en caso que llegaran a bajarla el día Martes. La versión final del rollup 4 instalará sobre la versión pre-release  si esta ha sido instalada. Sin embargo, y a raíz del problema mencionado, recomendamos desinstalar la versión pre-release.

Cómo identificamos si el rollup pre-release ha sido instalado?

En Add/Remove programs, marca "Show updates" y selecciona "Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (KB952580). Haz click en "Click here for support information". La versión del rollup pre-release es "1"

Otra forma, es consultar la registry  en esta llave:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\KB952954
  Name:            DisplayVersion
  Type:            REG_SZ
  Data:            1

Como puedes saber si te está afectando el problema?

Obviamente esto es válido solo si has instalado el Rollup 4 pre-release.

Veras un evento similar al siguiente en el log de aplicaciones:

    Se ha liberado el Rollup 4 para Exchange 2007 SP1. Los interesados pueden encontrar su descripción y el link para bajar la actualización en el siguiente artículo.
