Webcast Series – “Agility Now”
Dean Andrews, the “Dean of TechNet Webcasts”, posted information on his blog about a new webcast series that is starting up tomorrow (September 6th, 2006). The series will feature some of my team mates (always good news), but more importantly will feature good information about many ways that you IT Administrators can “take control of your IT infrastructure”.
The series is in 10 parts, delivered on Wednesdays at 9:30 A.M. Pacific Time, kicking off tomorrow with a “What is Infrastructure Optimization, and Why Should You Care?” introductory session.

I hope you find them useful.

Get a leg up on Windows Vista Security
A beta version of the Windows Vista Security Guide is now available for download. You can get the guide here.
It’s a great way to get a head start on learning how you’ll configure and deploy security configuration through Group Policy to your Windows Vista clients.
Also, there is a webcast being delivered tomorrow (Sept 7) at 8:00am Pacific Time to discuss the structure, format, and content of the guide. It’ll be a nice introduction and summary of what you can expect to find in the guide.
Here is the LiveMeeting link to the webcast.
Note: You can’t join this meeting no sooner than 1/2 hour before the meeting time of 8:00am PT, Thursday, Sept 7, 2006
“Hey Kevin… Will this webcast be available later for viewing as a recording?”
Yes, I understand it will be available on the connect.microsoft.com site.
KC Lemson, a lead PM on the Exchange Server product team, posts some VERY FUNNY excerpts from her “April Fools” versions of her Exchange Team weekly status update e-mails on her blog.
(And I’m very glad the truth is that we were actually able to use all 64 bits.)
Planning for and Deploying Office SharePoint Server 2007 (Part 2 of 2)
Here are some resources relating to the webcast I presented on September 22, 2006, entitled “TechNet Webcast: Planning for and Deploying Office SharePoint Server 2007 (Part 2 of 2)”.
I sure hope not! But I have been very bad about posting lately.
"What on earth have you been doing, Kevin?"
Put plainly - I've been busy. Very busy. Too busy. Busy preparing for and delivering live events and webcasts and podcasts, mostly. Our team has been asked to do meet some pretty big goals in terms of the number and types of events that we deliver, and I've been fortunate to have had some really great opportunities come my way; so it's been keeping me quite occupied.
I'm not complaining - though I could use a vacation pretty soon. But I've had a great time in all the cities and with all the IT Pros I've had the pleasure of visiting.
"Will you be blogging again?"
Absolutely. I am back. Watch this space. ..and thank you for your patience with me.
I'm often asked about this. People running or supporting customers running Microsoft Small Business Server attend a TechNet Event or a Microsoft webcast, and comment or write to me:
"Hey.. that product you showed is great. ..but will it work on Small Business Server?"
Well.. sometimes I knew the answer, but often I didn't. Fortunately, now, the SBS team announced on their blog that their new "Product Compatibility Charts" are now available.
Check out their blog post for the links to the charts, and for more information.
