Q: How does SQL 2005 handle online databases during the upgrade, what about the applications that are in use?
A: This questions was very interesting to me so I did some checking. The best bet to see how this is going to work, is to use the Upgrade Advisor, this will give you great advice on any potential database or application issues. However ultimately for any upgrade, some good ole’ fashion testing is in order.
