As you know.... this setting must be enabled for many agents under OpsMgr 2007.
Primarily - for Active Directory, Exchange, Cluster node servers, SMS, and Sharepoint 2007 server agents.
We have a ton of choices out there on how to easily enable this setting for multiple computers at once:
GUI tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/boris_yanushpolsky/archive/2007/08/02/enabling-proxying-for-agents.aspx
Command line tool: http://blogs.technet.com/cliveeastwood/archive/2007/08/30/operations-manager-2007-agent-proxy-command-line-tool-proxycfg.aspx
And two different PowerShell examples: http://www.systemcenterforum.org/downloads/#OperationsManager2007
Great Info. The Gui tool worked perfectly. Had to make sure that the console was running in the back.
Does this work for 2007 R2? Should proxying be enabled for all agents whether clustered or not?
@Brian - see my post at blogs.technet.com/.../how-to-set-agent-proxy-enabled-for-all-agents.aspx
Yes - these other methods should also work for R2, and there are MANY agent roles that require agent proxy - not just clusters. Manay MP's require them as well. Some larger environments find it simpler to just enable this setting across the board for each agent and be done with it.
hi,thanks for the nice post, but i have one query what is the role of Agent proxy and why we have to enable it, is it mandatory, if yes than for what purposes.thanks
