For existing Sharepoint administrators working on Sharepoint 2010, you can opt to get certified on MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) on Sharepoint 2010, which requires the passing of 2 exams, Exam 70-667 http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-667 and 70-668 http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/mcitp-certification.aspx.

The new successor Sharepoint certification will be the new MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solution Expert) Sharepoint certification which features a core MCSA (Solution Associate) on Windows Server 2012 and 2 new Sharepoint exams:
