Today, we are announcing the availability of Windows 8 Release Preview, our next preview release of Windows 8, for download in 14 languages.  The Release Preview download can be used to upgrade from Windows 7 and, in this scenario, can preserve programs, Windows settings and user application files.  Note that if you will be attempting an upgrade from Windows 8 Consumer Preview or Windows 8 Developer Preview, these settings will not be preserved but can be saved in a Windows.old folder if you do not reformat your hard disk.
