Lenovo doesn't sell the primary drive wrapper as a separate part. You have to buy another primary drive to get it. I have several at this point because we've been buying extras since our initial T60p days.

Where do you get the the Lenovo caddy/bracket/cage for HDDs for your ThinkPads? When you use the ThinkPad Serial Hard Drive Bay Adapter for a 2nd HDD, the drive needs to have some low profile screws to fit into the adapter. An additional caddy/bracket or whatever you call it would be helpfull when swapping among multiple primary HDDs. Since I still use the original drive at times, it would be good to have an additional drive cage.

yea, but will the 500GB drive be 9.5mm??? That's the question. If so, I see a 1TB laptop in my future. :?)

Seagate announced 1.5TB Sata for PC and 500GB for notebooks earlier this month. Not sure when they will hit the channel.

Yea, I wish there was a side-by-side comparison of the Hitachi, Western Digital and Seagate drives.

9.5mm 500GB drives are supposed to be coming. The 500GB 12.5mm drives will probably be in the big 17" monster laptops but who wants to lug one of those around? It's probably better than two laptops, but not much.

It seems that the new 5k500 drives are released. Two capacities are available: 400GB & 500GB. But both are 12.5mm high, not compatible with almost all laptops.
