Go America!!! :?)
I'm surprised nothing happened this year. I guess we'll see a new record next year. What's 300mph like I wonder...
Interesting post....most computer geeks (90% of my co-workers :) couldn't care less about car culture. I thought I was the only one. What do you guys drive? I'm quite happy with my '08 VW R32.
I have had an assortment of sports cars, trucks and SUVs over the years. My first car was a fastback 1970 Ford Mustang. My Grand Torino with the 351 Cleveland was fun.
More recently I bought and drove the Infiniti G35 Coupe. Loved that car but it just sat in the garage after I cut my driving in half, thanks to Verizon FIOS fiber. I ended up selling it and now I drive a Honda Civic Coupe. See http://blogs.technet.com/keithcombs/archive/2007/03/15/my-new-car-gets-40mpg-how-about-yours.aspx. It's getting ready to turn two years old and is just now getting ready to turn over 10K miles.
