Ramblings from another nerd on the grid
The NASA Shuttle Endeavour made an unplanned stop into Ft. Worth, Texas this afternoon due to weather between Texas and Florida. I think they just decided to have a few of our world famous margaritas and a taco. Grin.
I tell you what, that is one damn good shuttle pilot! :)
Imagine what it must have been like for the guy that proposed bolting the shuttle to a 747 and flying it coast to coast.
Imagine what it must have been like for the first pilot to take off and land.
I'm tempted to grab the HD video camera and head over to the air base in the morning and see if I can film the take off. That must be a hell of a thing to watch.
Actually, I think they first did this to flight test the shuttle Enterprise.
