  • i tried to install the microsoft virtual server 2005 R2 SP! on microsoft Vista Entrpeise edition and it still gives me the same error. that the IIS world..is not installed and the IIS admin service is not running even that i have installed the IIS and the IIS admin service is running what to do ?

  • Mohamad,

You need to install some of the IIS features that aren't by default installed.  I believe CGI is the usual culprit for most people.

Don't forget that you also must run the instance of IE used to administer the website elevated.  Right mouse click IE and "run as administrator".

Run the VMRC client elevated as well.

  • hi, when I install virtual server2005 r2 sp1 on my vista ultimate64 sp1 machine, the setup doesn't allow me to change the port number, and saying the installed version of IIS does not allow multiple web sites......etc.

can you help me out and let me know what am i missing?

    thanks in advance.
