Linux Indy car crash

I certainly hope Roberto Moreno is ok after crashing the Linux car on lap 36 of the Indy 500.  If the posting at http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/29/linux-car-first-to-crash-at-indianapolis-500/ is any indication, people are having fun at his expense.  Bummer.

See http://www.indy500.com/stats/ for final statistics on the race.

  • if they are giving it away free - where did they get the money to have such a racing car? From Richard Stallman or Linus Torvalds?

  • You're a good man, Keith. Unfortunately not all Microsofties are:

  • Thanks.  When I first looked at the story I thought it was funny then my better judgement took over pretty quickly.  I wondered if the driver was ok.

So I started digging around and thought I found the driver but it was the guy who broke his back on Thursday.  I still haven't had time to really ascertain Roberto's condition but I figured until I do, I'm not going to be an ass and poke fun at what is usually a very serious life threatening event.

    It just isn't kewl.

We'll save the Linux battle for another discussion and day.

  • OK, you have to admit the irony here...

Yeah, it is horrible, though. That's so sad for all the people who donated. 36 laps? Well, that is 35 more than 1, which would be an immensive disgrace.
