OK I realize how much it sucks to average one post a month for six months and then do several in one day, but I've got a bunch of things on my mind today and I wanted to blog them. Shoot me.

I'm going to start writing a column for TechNet Magazine.[1] The first month I'm also going to partner with Paul Bowden in producing it, and then after that with Nino Bilic and I'm sure we'll steal content written by others without giving them any credit write articles informed by other learned experts :-).

I originally said I couldn't commit to it because frankly I'm not creative enough to come up with new topics to write about in detail every month (two kids? full time job? anyone?), but then it occurred to me that a Q&A style column could be a lot easier to put together each month and might be a little more fun, so I'm going to give that a whirl. I'm excited to get back into writing, haven't done any public writing outside of blogging since I last wrote for Exchange & Outlook Magazine aeons ago.

I loosely had the old "Ask Dr. GUI" column in my head when I was thinking about the idea, but I really have no idea how it will turn out in the end. So that's why I'd like to ask you folks to give me ideas for what we should cover in the column. In particular I would love to get ideas for topics that are a little off the beaten path - i.e. not just "how does [foo] work?" but the other kinds of questions that people have that I hear in person from time to time, like why we chose M for the M drive. Send suggestions to kclemson AT microsoft DOT com.

And oh yeah, if I'm lucky I can convince the editors to give the column a cool name. Any suggestions? I still smile when I see "You Had Me At EHLO" and I'd love to get something like that. When I solicited for blog names a few years ago, "House of Queues" was a suggestion from an Exchange MVP which I like, except for the negative connotation. Any other ideas?

[1] I am hopeful that I will be able to keep it up and do it every month, but that depends on how the first month or two goes :-)
