SCCM 2007 Troubleshooting Case : Error 7403

    Hi all :

If you deployment SCCM 2007 based on SQL Server 2008 R2 , and enabling Reporting Service Point , you may occur this error information : SMS_SRS_Reporting_Point  Error 7403 - SRS Web Service is not running on SRS Reporting point server "SiteServer Name".

But everything seems normal except for these obnoxious error messages.

So you need to install Cumulative Update package 4 for SQL Server 2008 R2 and resolve this error . KB2345451: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2345451

Setup this CU4 package and restart , the error is gone , the Green is back !

    Enjoy !

  • Hi Justin.Gao

     我想咨询一个关于SCCM的部署问题

    部署环境,2台VPC虚拟机,都运行Windows Server 2008 SP1

    DC:AD、DNS

    SCCM:SQL Server 2005 SP2

         IIS(WebDAV)

         SCCM 2007 SP1

    安装前的配置均已就绪,整个过程参考您的SCCM 2007 SP1 For Windows 2008.pdf,

  • Hi, Justin

    I have the following setup:

    SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 - 10.50.2550.0 (X64)

    SCCM 2007 R3 - 4.00.6487.2000

and still see the same error in the logs and on the console. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Marcin

  • Hi Marcin:

    Are you try to install SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 + CU3?

    SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 CU3 link is :support.microsoft.com/.../2754552

  • Hi, Justin

Well, my SQL server was not up to date, so I installed SP2 CU3 (10.50.4266.0) - thanks. Unfortunately, the error message is still there. When I query the service SMS_SRS_REPORTING_POINT, it is running, but SCCM thinks that it is not running and displays a critical error both in the Component Status and Site System Status. Is that a known issue, is Microsoft aware of the problem? What else can I try? Thanks.

  • Hi Marcin:

If everything is ok , I think you can ignore these error messages. :)
