My name is Johann Kruse and strangely enough most people call me Johann. I am also known in some parts as foon, Mohann (during the month of Movember) and whassaname.
I am 29 years of age and live at beautiful Dee Why Beach in Sydney, Australia.
I surf, skateboard, play rugby, sail, and play golf. I try to anyway.
I work for Microsoft Australia as a specialist geek, my areas of expertise being Unified Communications and Exchange Server. In this role I spend my time with Enterprise and Government customers assisting with development of UC platforms and strategies.
I also have keen interest in the broader subjects of Internet email, real-time communications, and security; and I actively participate in several global communities and initiatives related to these fields. Prior to my current role I was a network guy specialising in large-scale IP networks, network security, high-availability networks and systems, and high-performance email platforms (yay for buzzwords).
I also regularly present at technical events and conferences around Australia and New Zealand. In the last few years these include, among others: TechEd 2005, Security Summit 2006, Exchange "12" Ignite, TechEd 2006, Ready Launch (aka launch of Office, Vista & Exchange), Security & Management Seminar 2007, APAC Sharepoint Conference 2007, Mobile & Embedded Devcon (aka MEDC), OCS Ignite, TechEd 2007, UC2 Launch (aka launch of OCS 2007). I am a regular presenter and attendee at various User Groups around Australia, and actively participate in the Sydney UC Community.
This year I am the track owner for Unified Communications at TechEd 2009.
My professional profile can be found at LinkedIn, my personal profile at Facebook, some of my photos are on Flickr, and you can usually find out what I'm doing via Twitter.
I’m definitely a dog person.
