Office update breaks "Company Knowledge" Editing

A recent Security Update for Word 2007 is breaking the ability to edit Company Knowledge in OpsMgr.  After installing KB2251419, when you try to edit Company Knowledge, you get:

“The server threw an exception.  (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT))”

To resolve the problem, you’ll need to uninstall this update from Add/Remove Programs.  However, keep in mind that this is a Critical Security Update, so removing it could leave your system vulnerable.

We’ll hopefully have a fix for this soon.

  • I am unable to unistall it. can you pelas ehlpe me out.

I ahve local admin access on my computer

  • In Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, be sure to check the "Show updates" box at the top.

  • I select KB2251419,  and click on remove. but nothing happens.

  • Any idea if a fix is in the works?

  • I know that a fix is in the works, but don't have a timeframe for release yet.

  • it's been a while, where is the fix? Any news?

  • I've always struggled to edit the Co. KB with Office 2007.

These days I make sure to use it on a system that still has Office 2003.

  • Any update on this guy?

  • I believe this issue is fixed with the hotfix from support.microsoft.com/.../2458608.

  • The hotfix worked on my system.  Thank you.
