The simplest way to fix it is to set this registry key.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Control Panel\International]

When you install w2k8 not in 'US-Only' mode you can correct this in the Control panel.

Regional Settings/Formats: Current format: English-United States

Regional Settings/Administrative: Choose 'Change System locale...' and select English-United States, Restart the server

Then Again: Control Panel/Regional Settings/Administrative: Choose 'Copy to reserved accounts...', select default AND system account. Reboot the system and Error 87 is solved!

Windows Server 2008 is available on Itanium - the RC1 download link is http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=1A7835BE-0682-4C7F-8713-BA7B10F4F13C&displaylang=en. However, there are no plans to support Hyper-V on Itanium - it is an x64 role only.

Yes, there is a TAP program in place, but the nominations have been closed for some time now- the spaces did not last long, and there are no openings for additional nominations now. Sorry!
