As we move into a world of Software+Services Microsoft is looking at the data centre of the future that will support it. The key concept is modular with a heavy emphasis on reducing power consumption. Checkout Mike Manos’ blog post about this very topic where he talks about our Generation 4 Modular data centres. Very interesting stuff and something I will be watching closely in the future. Plus I’ve embedded a video of what this might look like. And the most amazing thing about this is these new data centres won’t even have a roof! Very cool indeed!
