Over the last 6 months or so I’ve been talking to a lot of customers about what my Top 10 features are in Windows Server 2008. So now that I haven’t been travelling for awhile I’ve had some time to turn all the demo’s I’ve done in those sessions into Screencasts. So here we are with the first one. In this Screencast I’m going to take you through the new Server Core option in Windows Server 2008. I’ll take you through how to manage Server Core locally on the machine and what you need to do to manage it remotely.
This is also the first time I have encoded my screencast using Silverlight Streaming. Very cool stuff. I’ll go through the process I used for that in a future post. Until then you can watch the screencast right in this post!
I’ve also posted this screencast on TechNet Edge and you can find that here. This is the WMV that plays in Windows Media Player.
So after you have watched this you might like to find out more about Server Core. Below are some resources.

Good screencast... strange questions, what do you use to record you screencast?
Shame you didn't go back and fix the RPC service !!
Apart from that good intro to managing W2K8 core.
I use Camtasia Studio 5.0 for recording my screencats. You can find out more www.techsmith.com.
