Anyone familiar with USMT will know what I mean when I say configuring it can be a bit of a pain. It's a fantastic tool for migrating user data and system settings from an old system, be it Windows 2000 or XP, to a new Windows XP or Windows Vista system, but configuring it can be a little time consuming and frustrating as it is a command line tool. When I speak to people about USMT the one question that gets asked regularly is "Is there a GUI for USMT?" and "Are you going to create one?". Until now the answer has been no. I would love nothing more than to be able to write one, but I just don't have the spare time (or the coding knowledge to be able to). Well soon help will be at hand courtesy of Dan Cunningham who does have the time and the knowledge.
Many thanks to Richard Smith who has more details on this fantastic .Net based tool. This tool has not yet been released, but Dan is working on getting a release out to the community in the near future. Nice work Dan.
