I’m happy to announce that we have received our validation on our new version of the System Center Configuration Manager Extensions for SCAP tool.

The SCAP Tool converts SCAP FDCC content to DCM digest to be used with Configuration Manager 2007.  After the DCM Baselines have been evaluated the tool converts the data back into SCAP data to be used for compliance reporting.

  • I was hoping these would be addressed:

    • The System Center Configuration Manager Extensions for SCAP do not check user settings as defined in the SCAP content for FDCC. This is because the extensions cannot assess values from the registry tree HKEY_CURRENT_USER. These results appear as Fail in the XCCDF results files, and for this reason, they must be assessed manually. (July 2009)

    • The System Center Configuration Manager Extensions for SCAP client components will run only on Windows® 32-bit operating systems. The extensions are not supported on Windows 64-bit operating systems. (July 2009)

But sadly they are in the release notes.
