&lt;p&gt;Silverlight is a bit too new. Also, moonlight (silverlight on mono - for *nix) currently has to be installed from svn (admittedly I last checked 2 weeks ago).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It seems to me a move in that direction could potentially Flash is still the current standard for maximum reach.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It will make for an impressive browsing experience once it does catch on :)&lt;/p&gt;
