I'm writing this on the way back from sunny Leeds where Matt and I went freestyle with the demos and unleashed a load of cool technology upon an unsuspecting audience. We went at quite a pace because we had so much to cover and I wanted to let you know about all the stuff we talked about because there was no information available in the slides (being 99.99% demo and all).
Here's what we covered:
Phew! :-) Then we talked about:
We got lots of questions throughout the sessions (we were kind of expecting that) and I noted down the following things I have to go and find out for you guys:
If I've forgotten anything then let me know - we were asked alot of questions and I might have forgotten some - if that's the case then please let me know.
We'd love to hear your feedback from the event so we can tailor it better for next time, and if this is the kind of thing you want to see more of from Microsoft then let your feedback scores do the talking!
Any questions the feel free to drop me a line via the contact page...
Excellent presentation. Many thanks for your time and efforts. Opened my eyes as to what Vista can do. Tell me, though, what sort of spec was the laptop you used for the demonstration, I can't get Vista to fly like that on any of the many PC's we have here.
Very very much enjoyed the show. And killing Matt on Halo was a bonus. That wiped the smile of his face ;-)
Glad to see our photo's that George took have not been uploaded to here.
A little while back we dreamed up a session to look at what you do can do with Vista when the day job
I have to say it was rather satisfying filling Matt full of lead :-) I always try and have the last laugh!
The demo machines we had included a rather tasty Sony Vaio VGN-SZ3XWP with Intel Core Duo @ 2Ghz with 2GB of RAM. My pride and joy Media Center is as follows:

So in total I spent about 650 quid on the machine, but then I also bought some nice silent fans that cut down the noise nicely.
Hope this helps
Really good event. MS should consider doing a similar event showing the cooler side of Vista in the workplace and the interoperability with other new products like the new office suite, ex07 and Longhorn Server.
