Hello Everyone!

My name is Marcelo Belinazo and I'm a Program Manager at Microsoft Corp in Redmond, WA. I currently work for an organization called Developer & Platform Evangelism (DPE) where I manage the IT Pro Momentum Program, an early adoption program focused on helping IT professionals around the globe to learn and pilot the newest Microsoft technologies.

This blog is about IT Pro Momentum and you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the program (including how to be part of it) and our team in the upcoming posts.

Today (tonight actually) I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm originally from Brazil, 34 years-old and my background is Computer Science. I've been with Microsoft for 9 years, most of this time spent in the Brazilian subsidiary doing Consulting Services and Enterprise Sales.

Before joining Microsoft I've had my own company, a small network integrator specialized in integrating heterogeneous operating systems such as Novell Netware, Microsoft NT, Linux Red Hat and different flavors of Unix (SCO, AIX, HP-UX, etc.). In addition to the technical challenges, this experience taught me a lot about people, businesses and customers (particularly small & medium companies).

And yes, I’ve been an IT Pro myself for almost 10 years.

Before I go I just want to say how privileged I feel with the opportunity to work with IT Pros again in my career. IT Pros play a critical role in the world today as they build infrastructures that support businesses and connect people around the world. In general, it’s a thankless job. When the work is done well, everything runs smoothly. On the other hand, when problems come up… you guys know what happens.

I feel really passionate about helping IT Pros to learn and pilot the newest technologies so they can deliver value to their employers and advance in their careers. We currently have 1,500 participants from 35 countries and, in the last 12 months, more than 1,000 early adoption projects were facilitated by this program. In the next post I’ll provide you with an overview of IT Pro Momentum and how you can be part of it.

Thanks,

Marcelo Belinazo
